With the sudden summer weather change, it’s time to call out the lightweight, 0g fill turnout rugs! The ComFiTec Plus Dynamic II rugs are one of the best sellers here at WeatherBeeta, and we’ve asked Grace (@the_wonky_spotty) what she thinks of her purchase, and why she would recommend it!
Meet Duke, my 14-year-old spotty!
Now, he may be a spotty horse, but Duke thinks of himself as a grey. Meaning he LOVES to roll and wallow in mud, often getting so wet and muddy, he’ll stand at the gate shivering to come in. Therefore, it’s important for me that I have a lightweight turnout rug that is both durable and most importantly, waterproof.
The ComFiTec Plus Dynamic II Lite Standard Neck turnout rug was an obvious choice for me. The 1200 denier triple weave outer shell with repel shell coating is perfect at keeping Duke dry, yet still cool enough in these wet, but mild late summer days.
In 2020, Duke underwent kissing spine surgery, and so his back health and comfort is essential. The memory foam wither relief pad featured on this lightweight turnout rug, contours to the shape of Duke and prevents any pressure, which was a welcome addition and something that none of Duke’s other rugs offer.
Whilst this turnout rug is 0g fill, it is compatible with WeatherBeeta’s liners, which means I can continue to use this rug throughout the winter months by adding either a medium/lite, medium or heavy weight rug liner underneath! This also makes cleaning them a lot easier, as the liners fit in my washing machine (shhh don’t tell my partner!)
I have been using this rug throughout all the random summer rain we’ve had this year so far, and other than being a bit muddy, it is still in perfect condition. The extra-large tail flap has also been greatly appreciated by Duke as he has limited shelter in his field and will naturally turn his bum to the worst of the weather. No more soggy wet and shivering horse waiting at the gate.
I would highly recommend this product for anyone looking for a rug they can adapt all year round.
