My name is Amelia White, and I am a 27yr old FEI para dressage rider for Australia. I was originally an eventing rider, until a near-fatal car accident left me in a wheelchair for almost two years. I now have limited feeling and function in my legs and spine.
In 2015 I was classified as a para Grade V and I made the big decision to relocate to Germany to pursue the ultimate dream of Paralympic team selection! I was long-listed for the Australian team going to Rio 2016. In 2018, we achieved qualifying scores for the World Equestrian Games.
Heading into 2020, I am one of 6 Australian combinations to be named on the Long List for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics. My horse, Genius, is an 18.2hh KWPN gelding by Blue Hors Romanov x Don Schufro. Last year, we achieved a PB of 71.2% at CPEDI*** Überherrn.
I have been a long-term user of Weatherbeeta - specifically their rugs! - that have kept my horses protected for my entire riding career across both the southern and northern hemispheres. It is the icing on the cake to be an ambassador for a company I love, and I can’t wait to have the support of Weatherbeeta UK for our journey in 2020!
